How NOAH Began: The Early Hours and First Articles (2015–2016)

Every workshop has its first day. Ours was a wooden test watch, held in hand in 2014. We didn't know how to make watches. We just knew we wanted them to be made of real wood and look different from everything we saw in shop windows.
The first watches sold
In May 2015, we took the first watches to the Made in RO fair in Bucharest. We worked until late at night and set off for Bucharest with the boxes still taped shut. We sold eight watches. For us, it was a beginning. By the end of 2015, we had moved to Cluj, and in 2016 we founded the company, together with Ruben, Cătălin, and Erik.
The first articles
In 2016, the press began to notice us. Stejar Masiv and Ziar de Cluj wrote in January, Business Magazin in March, Produs în Ardeal in May. They all told the same story: two young people in Cluj making custom-made wooden wristwatches, using wood brought from all over the world and left in its natural color.

What remained from those early days
The name, from Noah's Ark, built from wood and made to last. Unpainted wood. And the idea that a watch can belong to someone special, even more so when it has a name, a date, or a message on the back. Today, over 5,000 people wear a NOAH watch.
